At heart I believe, he was, a champion for Christ and to his credit he did apologize for some of his most inflammatory comments. As a Christian I think his passing can be celebrated, but I'd celebrate it within the context of faith. It would not be possible for any of us to accurately gauge whether he went to heaven or not but on the basis of his professed faith, the compass certainly points up rather than down.
